Budapest, Vienna, Salzburg

Itinerary (subject to change)
Day 1:
Evening departure from Kaiserslautern, P+R parking lot Daennerplatz,
near Kleber Kaserne at 06:30 pm. From Wiesbaden, Hainerberg PX
military bus stop at 06:30 pm. From Heidelberg, PHV P+R parking lot
(near new commissary, outside base) at 07:45 pm. From Böblingen,
Panzerkaserne PX parking lot at 9:30 pm. Overnight travel through
southern Germany and Austria to Hungary.
Day 2:
Breakfast (not included) en route at a rest
station in Austria designed by the famous
Austrian Artist Hundertwasser. Afternoon
arrival in Budapest and check in at our
4-star Hotel, time to freshen up. The evening
is free for own activities or join a wonderful
dinner with Hungarian music (not included).
Your guide will make suggestions.
Day 3:
After buffet breakfast (included) in the hotel we start with a city sightseeing
tour to include the Matthias Church, the Fisherman’s Bastion, Parliament
and the Citadel. In the afternoon you are invited to come along on an
exciting outing (optional) to the Puszta, Hungary’s own Wild West. We
will start with a horse show; you will have a chance to ride one of the
performing horses after the show. There will also be a carriage ride. Then
we are invited to a Farmer’s Wedding, a delightful evening including
dinner and wine, with beautiful costumes, music and fun for all. Late evening return to the Hotel.
Day 4:
After an early buffet breakfast at the hotel
(included), we will say good bye to Budapest
and drive to Vienna. We have a city sightseeing
tour by bus, including Emperor Franz Josef’s
Hofburg Palace, the Parliament Building, the
State Opera House, the Burg Theatre and
the St. Stephan’s Cathedral. Afternoon hotel
check in to our 4-star hotel near the famous
Naschmarket. In the evening you have the
possibility to join a Heurigen dinner in the
village of Grinzing with live music in a typical
merry wine village atmosphere (not included).
Day 5:
After an early buffet breakfast at the hotel
(included), we will say goodbye to Vienna and
drive to Salzburg. At arrival we meet a local guide and start with a
pleasant stroll through the historic center of Mozart’s hometown, which
includes the exquisite Mirabell Gardens, the Mozart house, the Old
Market, St. Peter’s Churchyard, the Great Festival Hall, the monumental
Dome Square and the famous Horse Trough. Then take time to browse
in the shops of the charming Getreidegasse or visit the birth house of
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Afternoon departure, stops en route before
we arrive back at points of origin in the late evening.
