Itinerary (subject to change)

1st Day:
Flight to Moscow with Lufthansa (1:10 pm – 6:20 pm). Welcome by our
local guide, bus transfer to our booked 4-star hotel and check in.

2nd - 4th Day:
sightseeing tour of Moscow. We will see the Red Square, Basil’s Cathedral, the Kremlin Walls, Lenin’s Mausoleum, GUM, the convent of the Nativity of the Virgin Tverskaya Boulevard, Cathedral of the Savior, the new suburbs and the Lomonosov University. We will visit one of the Kreml Cathedrals from the inside and will tour the famous Armory. We will take a stroll into the old town of Kitai-Gorod and the GUM department store. You will ride on the Moscow subway, with a guided tour to see the most beautiful stations. We will visit the Tretyakov Gallery
with the most famous collection of Russian arts, including the “Trinity” by Andrei Rubljov and the Vladimir’s “Mother of God”. Another highlight will be a full day excursion to Sergiev Possad (Sagorsk). We will pass picturesque Russian villages and the Isby, the typical, rich decorated Russian wooden houses, before we visit the Monastery of Troize Sergijev and museums. For centuries this monastery was the headquarter of the Russian - Orthodox Church. In the evening of the 4th day we will be transferred to the train station, where we check into our train sleeping compartment.

5th - 7th Day :
Morning arrival in St.Petersburg. Welcome by our local guide. We start with a sightseeing tour of St.Petersburg. We see the Stock Exchange, the University, the Winter palace, the Newskij Prospect, the cathedral of Kasan, the department store Gostinij Dwor, the statue of Peter the First and we visit the Cathedral of St. Isaak from the inside. We will visit the Fortress of Peter-Paul with the Peter-Paul Cathedral, where most of the Russian Czars are buried. In a small chapel Nikolaj II and members of his family are buried. In the afternoon we visit the Heremitage with its art collection from all of Europe. We will join an excursion to Peterhof, the
former Summer-residence of the Czars. There we visit the Great Palace with the beautiful gardens and fountains.

8th Day :
after check out, transfer to the airport and return flight to Frankfurt with Lufthansa (2:00 pm – 2:30 pm)
